Okay for a swift lunch – not recommended beyond that: Restaurant Santa Lucia Corso (21. March 2017)
The “pea soup with mint” (CHF 8.00) is a simple but good start for lunch – the portion is larger than you would think and the minty taste added to the rather basic pea soup makes for a good combination of flavours.
The “Pizza Toscana (spicy salami)” (CHF 22.00) with “additional anchovies” (+ CHF 2.00) on the other hand is not entirely perfect. The dough is too soft and not really crispy and the whole pizza is rather oily. Obviously, salami (which has fat) plus the anchovies, usually ‘stored’ in oil don’t help either. However, there is some room for improvement with regards to the pizza.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is rather average, functional, yes, but not really appealing. The service is friendly and – although we had all expected that they would not be bringing everything given the variety of orders – everything was placed on our table in due time. Price-wise, you can’t complain as the dishes are very fair in price and frankly, the beverages are quite okay too (i.e. 0,5l San Pellegrino, CHF 5.50). Overall, for a quick lunch, the Santa Lucia Corso is fine – beyond that, I would personally not recommend it.
