2. September 2010: Baur au Lac Bar
The Hotel Baur au Lac is – as the name already states – located close to Lake Zurich. It is reachable by tram (2, 5, 8, 9, and 11; stop “Bürkliplatz”) or bus (161, or 165; stop “Bürkliplatz”). It is also situated in walking distance from the Paradeplatz and you can find a lot of other places in its vicinity like the Restaurant Mövenpick Palavrion, the Restaurant Bauschänzli or the bar La Stanza.
The bar is located right next to the main entrance and is an open-air bar, so it’s recommendable to go there when the weather is nice. The area is really spacious and the garden which is right next to the bar provides you with a very peaceful feeling.
The service is friendly and helpful – nothing outstanding or special though. The drinks’ menu to choose from is quite nice and offers a nice selection of different drinks. The “Apple Mojito” I’ve tried was quite okay in taste and the price was acceptable too (CHF 20.00).
The Bar at the Baur au Lac is a great place to go, especially in summer. The atmosphere is just great, the service is nice and friendly, the drinks are quite okay and the prices are within an acceptable range too.
