Outstanding bar with interesting drinks: Restaurant & Bar KOPPER (30. March 2017)

| June 1, 2017 | 0 Comments

It is only a couple of weeks since I’ve been to the KOPPER last – so I decided to try a couple of different drinks this time and went first for the “Curryblatt (golden rum, lime, pomegranate, soda)” (EUR 13.00) which was okay but definitely not as good as the drinks I’ve tried last time – especially the actual dried curry leaves which were part of the drink didn’t quite do the trick for me.

The “Shizo (bourbon, yuzo, avocado honey, Islay fog)” (EUR 13.00) on the other hand was definitely way better – still quite particular in its taste but definitely better palatable.

While the “Pine (plantation 3 stars, lychee, fino sherry)” (EUR 13.00) was decent …

… the “Kardamom (rye whiskey, coffee, mondino amaro)” (EUR 13.00) was more like a coffee liquor than anything else. So, not really my cup of tea – so, the drinks were still good but compared to what I’ve had last time, I was a tiny bit disappointed. Or maybe just luckier last time when I’ve tried the drinks.

As I was also rather hungry, I decided to try some dishes I’ve already considered quite delicious last time like the “Taco (veal tongue, pineapple, crema)” (EUR 8.00) which was again absolutely delicious! I mean, it is not really like Mexican food in Mexico but it comes damn close to it.

The “tatar (red shizo, quail egg, whiskey, coffee)” (EUR 16.00) was good – but the combination of flavours was a bit more to my liking the last time. With regards to the “pulpo (chorizo, passion fruit, mint)” (EUR 16.00), I must admit that it was perfect. Often, pulpo is rather chewy, which it wasn’t at all. So, perfectly smooth and aromatic pulpo with the perfect note of saltiness through the added chorizo cubes! Absolutely lovely!

The place itself is great – the interior is lovely, modern, just somehow appealing toy our senses. And not only that but also the service is great – they are all friendly, jovial, and helpful at all times. You just have to make absolutely sure that you are booking a table in advance as else you won’t stand a chance to get a table.
