The waitress really makes a difference: Restaurant Brasserie Freilager (28. April 2017)

Admittedly, part of the reason why I keep returning to the Restaurant Brasserie Freilager is that there is a certain convenience to the fact that I live only 45 meters away from it. However, I would definitely not return if it wasn’t good. Today I went for the “daily soup” (CHF 12.00) which was decent to start.

As a main course, I tried the “Tagliolini Buffala (served on a cherry tomato sauce with rocket salad and mozzarella di bufala)” (CHF 27.00) and while the combination of the cherry tomatoes with the mozzarella di bufala was delicious, the tagliolini were definitely beyond al dente.

However, the place is still lovely and we were even able to get a table for 7pm the same day which you usually don’t. The service was again very attentive – it really does make a difference who attends you. Julia did a great job again – she was there, didn’t forget anything, and was jovial but in a pleasant way. The prices are still absolutely decent for Zurich with CHF 3.00 for 0,5l water, CHF 5.00 for a double espresso and CHF 7.00 for 1DL of ‘Ojo Torrontes’ and CHF 8.00 for 1DL of ‘Yecla’. All in all, I can still recommend the Restaurant Brasserie Freilager. Just make sure to book a table with ‘Julia’ when booking – makes your evening all the more pleasant.
