2. October 2010: Onyx Bar @Hyatt Park
The Hotel Park Hyatt is located within walking distance from the Paradeplatz. It is therefore easily reachable by public transportation (Stop “Stockerstrasse”, trams 6, 7, 8, and 13). In addition, the hotel has its own parking house where you can leave your car.
In its vicinity are the Restaurant Mövenpick Palavrion, the Baur au Lac Bar, as well as the La Stanza.
The Onyx Bar is a part of the Hotel Park Hyatt Zürich and has an internal as well as an external area. The interior is really nicely decorated, offering lounge chairs and small tables as well as a large, long marble table in the middle where you can stand and enjoy your drink. The outside offers tables and chairs to enjoy the drinks. All in all, it’s a very atmospheric place. In addition to that, the crowd usually being there is quite good.
The waiter was friendly and helpful, also he provided us quite fast with the ordered drinks. The drinks were – according to the ones actually enjoying them – quite good.
The prices seemed okay too (was not able to check them out in detail, but they seemed fair). All in all, the Onyx Bar is a great place to go and have a couple of drinks with your friends before you go clubbin or the like. Be aware though that the “Parkhuus” is not actually the parking house but much more a restaurant ;-)
