Rather average dishes and definitely average service: Restaurant olivé @ Radisson Blu St. Gallen (26. June 2017)

| September 29, 2017 | 0 Comments

The menu in the Restaurant olivé is not that extensive so I guess I will have tried everything the next time I’m dining there. Today, it was a “tomato basil soup” (CHF 8.00) as a starter and frankly, it was really a stretch in terms of ‘being able to accept it’. I mean, the portion was tiny – and it really tasted like canned tomato soup. So, nothing you would want to be served.

The “caesar salad (with bacon, avocado, Caesar dressing with corn-fed chicken breast)” (CHF 19.00) on the other hand was freshly prepared and also good in terms of quality. What was bothering me a bit was the size of the chicken – it wasn’t pre-cut. And it might be that some people like it that way but to be completely honest, I don’t. Next time, I’ll keep that in mind, I’ll ask if they can pre-cut the meat.

The waitress was the same as last time – and well, she was friendly, helpful, but slow. There were only three to four tables occupied that night and two tables had been served before. After I was seated, I was waiting a solid 10 minutes until I got the menu. I mean, I get it, warm food has to go out and there are probably a million more important things than serving your customers … ‘irony off’.

Still, if you are able to ignore the fact that you will have to be super patient in the olivé, the caesar salad is quite decent. But last time the experience was definitely better than this time. At least you don’t have to book a table in advance in the evening.
