When planning looks great but delivery is weak: Restaurant Helvetia (11. July 2017)

| October 15, 2017 | 0 Comments

When you are seated and you get a menu which starts with “cherry yogurt cold soup” you’re definitely intrigued by what you will get as a starter. Or at least I was! The execution was rather weak though – the starter was way too sweet and didn’t really taste pleasant.

And unfortunately, the same was true for the main course – the “Caesar salad with chicken stripes, egg, Parmesan and bacon” (CHF 30.50) looked relatively nice when served but it was definitely lacking sauce and the chicken was way too dry to be enjoyable. So, frankly, the lunch menu really was a disappointment.

The waitress was friendly and surprisingly attentive but the dishes were just not good. At least the atmosphere is lovely if you manage to score a table outside in the little garden right next to the river – but it won’t compensate for the weak performance.
