Hearty, tasty Ramen soup for lunch: Restaurant IKOO | 行こう | Japanese Noodle Soups (14. July 2017)

| October 19, 2017 | 0 Comments

If you want to have lunch at the Restaurant IKOO, make sure you show up on time. They do not take reservations for lunch and there is in total not much more than maybe 20 spaces – so you better come early, or late. They offer a variety of Asian dishes and are specialized in Japanese noodle soups. I went for the “Tantanmen (spicy soup based on sesame and chili, fried minced beef and pork meat with Gari, Wakame, Negi an black sesame)” (CHF 25.00). While you think, at first, that CHF 25.00 for a soup is a bit over the top, it actually turns out it isn’t. The portion is not only large but it is also super delicious!

Just make sure you will bring either cash or a Maestro card as they do not accept credit cards. The place itself is tiny, has a couple of spaces outside and it is entirely functional. Not really the prettiest place but you feel comfortable nevertheless and the service is attentive, friendly, and swift – as you wish it to be for lunch. The CHF 10.00 for a bottle of sparkling (1L) are at the upper side of the acceptable but still fine if you look at the whole package.
