Perfect brunch and breakfast place on three floors: Restaurant CT coffee & coconuts (13. August 2017)

| November 16, 2017 | 0 Comments

While I was a bit skeptical at first to visit a place for brunch which is called coffee & coconuts, it turned out to be a great choice. Given the night before (context: bachelorette party) was a bit rough, I felt like having quite something and went for the “Kogi BBQ Taco (short rib, salsa roja – a tasty relish with cilantro, onion & lime, served up with chili soy slaw)” (EUR 9.50) which was not really anything like a taco but it was truly amazing in taste.

Since I’ve tried the beef noodle soup in Taiwan, any noodle soup just doesn’t taste as good as it used to. The “Vietnamese Fish Pho (roasted pork, thick udon noodle, kimchi, smoked eel, tauge & chilli)” (EUR 12.50) was quite decent though. Rich in ingredients, the meat was not that great but it was definitely a sound dish which was perfectly filling you up and laying out everything on the “way to sober”.

The place is spread on three floors and if you are lucky enough to sit on the top floor like we were, you get to have an overview over the whole place from above but you will also have to climb quite some stairs to get there. The service is generally friendly but definitely too slow and really not that competent. I mean, some of the drinks were spilled over colleagues, other things never arrived, and well, yeah. Enough said. However, at least the drinks are good – the “Watermelon Love (watermelon, limejuice, fresh mint and ice)” (EUR 4.50) was refreshing and the perfect wake up drink. The “Espresso” (EUR 2.70) took some of the share too and last but not least, the “Espresso Martini (vodka, espresso, Kahlua, star anise, an-all-time favourite)” (EUR 9.00) was the perfect finish. Overall, the CT coffee & coconut is something I can highly recommend for breakfast. Not what I would have expected but positively surprised.
