Very authentic Asian cuisine: Restaurant Ach’i (31. August 2017)

| December 7, 2017 | 0 Comments

A friend of mine recommended the Restaurant Ach’i to me – and I must admit while I was a bit wondering at first about the place I have to admit that it is absolutely worth visiting. Just one hint of caution – you can’t book a table so make sure to be early for lunch, as else you will end up not getting a table.

As a starter I went for the “pork dumpling ‘Wan Tun'” (CHF 5.00) which turned out to be a soup – and definitely quite a tasty one.

What was way better than the starter was the main course – the “deep fried duck with sweet and spicy sauce” (CHF 24.00) was not – as in so many cases – something you would not really recognize when eating it but it was proper duck which was good in consistency and taste with a lovely crust and good sauce.

The additional “fried rice” (CHF 3.00) I had ordered was quite a portion and was – luckily – brought at the same time as the duck. However, I wouldn’t rely on that as they are serving more according to “when the kitchen is done” than properly aligned with the orders at the table. In our case, luckily it worked out.

The place is simple in its decoration but it does seem authentic to a certain degree – and the same is true for the waitresses. They all are Asian, speaking German only to a limited degree, and they are friendly and helpful to the degree they can. Overall, I can recommend the Restaurant Ach’i as the food is good, very fair in price and the atmosphere gives away a very authentic vibe with friendly and service-oriented waitresses.
