Nice place to be covered from the shade: Il Bar @ La Rinascente (9. September 2017)
When you arrive in Palermo after the 50 years anniversary of your company the previous night in Munich, you feel like sleeping, relaxing, sitting back, and not doing anything. Well, if you are arriving in Palermo meeting your friends from kindergarten, then things usually turn out differently than you had planned – after a “Francesino Crudo Mozzarella” (EUR 4.50) we switched to white wine “Insolia” (EUR 23.00). The white wine was quite decent and helped us through the early afternoon.
While the “Il Bar @ La Rinascente” in Milan is located quite beautifully and you have a marvelous view on the Duomo, there is literally nothing to see from the top of the place. And while the service isn’t really up to the task in terms of attentiveness, they are at least friendly and made sure that our stock of white wine would never empty. Overall, the Il Bar at La Rinascente is frankly not a place I’d visit again. It does the trick if you want to sit outside in the shade and drink something but it isn’t any appealing kind of place you would want to go to again.
