Great Vietnamese lunch offering: Restaurant My Tam (22. September 2017)

| January 1, 2018 | 0 Comments

The “fried wantan” (EUR 3.00) were a bit too fried for my taste as basically you would taste a lot of crunchy dough but not really any of the stuffing. However, in combination with the sweet and sour sauce, it made for a decent starter.

The “Vit Cari (cripsy duck with vegetable, lime leaves, coco milk in a spicy curry sauce)” (EUR 14.50) was absolutely delicious. The quality of the duck was overall rather good and the meat was great in combination with the slightly spicy sauce.

In combination with the rice served, it made for a really good and very comforting meal. However, it was really slightly spicy which would you not allow to eat too much too quick.

The place itself is super simple and down to earth. The decoration is rather limited and functional but that is compensated by the friendliness of the waitresses. They are quite attentive and the beverages are served within a few minutes. The “home-made green tea with fresh ginger and fresh lime leaves” (EUR 3.20) turned out not to be as fresh as expected as it was served in a tea bag. In terms of prices, one can really not complain as everything is decent in terms of price performance (e.g. “double espresso” (EUR 2.90); “0,75l water for EUR 4.80). The My Tam is definitely a place I can recommend to visit for lunch – just make sure too book your table in advance.
