Good and swift lunch offering: Restaurant MASI Wine Bar (11. October 2017)
The “small mixed salad” (CHF 6.00) was decent as it was not the ordinary assembly of green leaf salad but spiked a bit with carrots. However, as the salad was displayed on the menu as part of the ‘lunch menu’, I consider CHF 6.00 rather expensive for a lunch salad.
I went for the “Scaloppina di Vitello al Gorgonzola con Talgierini (veal cutlet with blue cheese sauce and Italian pasta)” (CHF 44.00) which was – overall – quite tasty. The meat is thin, rich in flavour and the gorgonzola sauce is intense yet delicious.
Just if you mix the pasta with the sauce, there is not quite enough for it. However, even if you have the buttery pasta by yourself without the sauce it is great. The waiter is attentive, swift and friendly and the atmosphere in the MASI is also decent. Just make sure to book a table in advance as else you won’t stand a chance to get a table for lunch.
Price-wise, the beverages are also rather on the lower end in Zurich with CHF 5.50 for a “0,5l San Pellegrino” or CHF 6.50 for a “double espresso”. Still, the Restaurant MASI Wine Bar is a great place for a swift lunch meal.
