Decent breakfast selection: Restaurant Las Carretas (15. October 2017)

| January 28, 2018 | 0 Comments

At first, I almost didn’t find the restaurant as it is kind of hidden behind the entrance close to the lobby but again, I was positively surprised about the selection of foods they offer. Starting from rather regular elements like roasted potatoes, egg, bacon, and sausages …

… to a selection of different breads and pastries …

… a large variety of fresh fruits, cut, and whole.

As well as the obligatory cheeses and cold cuts, complemented by jellies, cream, dulce de leche, and jams.

The omelet station (at this moment unmanned) where you can order your omelet which is produced within a few minutes and decent in taste but definitely not the best one I’ve had so far.

You can do your own toast – something not particularly appealing to me but also something I haven’t seen in any restaurant so far.

The selection of vegetables is rather limited but functional.

And there is a fair selection of juices to pick from – from the regular ones like orange juice and pear to rather local ones.

The service is very attentive and friendly making sure you have everything. Coffee, tea, etc. However, we had ordered two green teas and only got served one. Not how I would want it to be but it worked out in the end. If you are staying at the Sheraton Montevideo, it is definitely recommendable to have breakfast here – decent food, decent service, rather unspectacular atmosphere though.
