Not efficient but with interesting flavours: Heladería Rodó (15. October 2017)

When you are walking along the sea shore you figure where life in Montevideo takes place. The city itself seems rather empty. There is noone – literally, sometimes when you’re roaming the streets it feels like you’re alone there. And I’m not talking about after midnight but really just all the time.

The Heladeria Rodo which is located next to the sea shore and you kind of can’t miss it offers a nice selection of different ice creams. However, like in Italy, they have this stupid concept that you have to queue twice – once to get your ticket and once to actually tell them what you want. Given we’re a group, we split up making the process relatively efficient. But only relatively. The two ladies behind the counter were kind of at their limit.

I went for the “large cup” (180 UYU) where you’re allowed to pick two flavours and I went for “Tramontana” and “Dulce de Leche”. Not sure what exactly “Tramontana” is but it kind of felt like vanilla with caramel pieces and crumbles. Not sure, however, I liked both flavours. If you are into ice cream and don’t want to spend your day queuing, split up with someone and both queue making the process more efficient.
