Great place to people watch: Restaurant Sans Panes y Cerveza (16. October 2017)

| February 1, 2018 | 0 Comments

When you fly a short leg around lunch time, it is always leading to hunger attacks a couple of hours later. And when the ‘attack’ finally hit, we were close to ‘Sans Panes y Cerveza’ at Plaza Serrano. And I must say, while I was a bit skeptical at first, it turned out to be quite a good idea to have something to eat there. I went for the “Rabas y papas rústicas acompañadas de salsa tártara (fried squid and potatoes with tártara sauce)” (200 ARS) which were not really that amazing. I mean, the squids were fine and so were the potatoes but somehow it didn’t feel like the best food there is.

The “Lomitos salteados con chiles y cilantro (sautéed loins with chili and coriander)” (130 ARS) on the other hand were absolutely delicious. The meat was prepared perfectly juicy and still red inside. And the combination with the little variety of vegetables made for a great dish. Truly mouth-watering.

The “Botellon de limonada menta y gengibre (demi-john to share of mint and ginger lemonade)” (120 ARS) was not only perfect in size to share but it was also absolutely refreshing. And it did really feel like freshly prepared lemonade. Lovely! The place itself is not that spectacular but functional and it is absolutely great to watch people passing by if you manage to score a table at the windows or sit outside. The service is friendly and, after some initial starting delay, swift. Overall, the Restaurant Sans Panes y Cerveza is a decent place for a little snack throughout the day.
