An absolute no go – never come here: Restaurant Nicasio (25. October 2017)
When you’re really hungry it is still the best thing to be patiently looking for a nice place and not settle for the first best which pops up. Unfortunately, that’s what I did that evening as I was basically starving after a 400+ km drive from Córdoba to Rosario. I shouldn’t have. I went for the “rabas” (195 ARS) as a starter. And they were a bit too chewy for my personal gusto – also, the sauce tartare which was served with the rabas didn’t have anything to do with sauce tartare as I know it.
The “lomo grillé” (200 ARS) which was served with two ingredients of salad (and I had to pay 35 ARS to add onions) was fine in terms of how it was grilled. However, the meat wasn’t tasting like much and without a good portion of salt, it wasn’t something you’d want to eat. However, I was lucky as the pizza my company had ordered was really not eatable.
The place itself isn’t too appealing either. The little garden which is right next to the main pedestrian street (well, basically it’s a two way street with two lanes on each side and a large pedestrian zone in the middle) isn’t really appealingly decorated. The tables were still dirty and the attention was really almost non-existent. We were waiting a solid 15 minutes for someone to show up and take up the order. And then it took them way too long to bring the “water with gas” (45 ARS) and it was not even water with gas but water without gas. I mean, come on – really? So, frankly, just don’t go here. No good reason to do so at all!
