Oh la la – so French: Restaurant Frenchie Recoleta (26. October 2017)
We had walked by the Frenchie about 10 days earlier and found it quite funny as it was located right next to the French embassy. Given the car rental station Sixt was also right next to it, it was time to eat something small right here. The “menu of the day” (250 ARS) which included also a dessert (or in my case, a double espresso) was rolled chicken stuffed in seaweed with potatoes and a side of sweet potatoes and a red bell pepper sauce. And while I’m generally not a fan of these stuffed and squeezed things, I must admit that the chicken, despite a bit tight in terms of consistency, was actually quite good.
The place is tiny and really looks kind of like a French café in France – the service speaks French and acts French. Although they were rather swift taking up the order, they kind of disappeared behind the counter after the menu was served. Overall though, the Frenchie is a lovely little café which offers a ‘lunch menu’ (which we had around 4pm) for an incredibly decent price as even one drink is included, and apparently the more expensive one (as I only had to pay my “Agua Villavicencio”, 40 ARS on top).
