Sound dishes as always with improved service: Restaurant Brasserie Freilager (15. November 2017)

| March 21, 2018 | 0 Comments

When you are in the city you live and you only get to spend approximately 12 hours in your country, then it is definitely the moment to eat somewhere really close to where you live. And the Restaurant Brasserie Freilager is exactly that place. We went for dinner around 6:30pm which was super early as the restaurant was basically empty. However, we were received very friendly and brought to our table. A waitress I haven’t encountered yet served us and was very friendly and forthcoming. I went for the “pumpkin cream soup with Amaretti and orange” (CHF 15.00) as a starter which was tasty and refreshing at the same time.

I think it won’t matter where else in the world I’ll eat an entrecôté Café de Paris, I haven’t encountered a single place so far which is better than the La Côte. The “Entrecôté Café de Paris, 220gr” (CHF 59.00) served …

… with “Pommes Alumettes” was absolutely decent. But really not the best I’ve had. I guess you can say that’s complaining on a high level, however, why settle easily.

I liked the idea that they serve some vegetables with the entrecôté but it would really not have been necessary as the amount of vegetables was so neglect-able.

Overall, the Restaurant Brassiere Freilager is still a good restaurant which offers a variety of tasty options in a nice atmosphere with most often – like today – professional service. And prices are – especially for Zurich – decent which is also true especially for the beverages where i.e. a bottle of water accounts for CHF 4.00. Booking on busy days highly recommended.
