Relaxation with a shisha – and patience: Equestrian Lounge @ The St. Regis Dubai, Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club (19. January 2018)

| June 15, 2018 | 0 Comments

Every Polo club seems to have an Equestrian Lounge – something I wasn’t aware of until recently. The place is located in the middle of the St. Regis in a little atrium so it becomes a bit chilly in the evening. The service is attentive and very friendly overall. However, the coordination is not really working that well as the offering of the lounge is rather limited in terms of alcohol so there had to be another waiter called in. When I wanted to order shisha, the shisha guy was on his dinner break. Now, I get it that people can’t be there all the time and that you need to have dinner at some time but I was still a bit surprised that there wasn’t a second shisha guy.

In any case, the friendliness and care of the waitress made up for that so it was still a pleasant experience. The “fresh watermelon juice” (30 AED) and the “sparkling water, 0,75l” (35 AED) were served almost right away. The “caesar salad (romaine hearts, Peccorino shavings, sourdough croutons, Spanish anchovies)” (70 AED) with additional “grilled corn-fed chicken” (80 AED) was served within about 25 minutes which is a bit long for a salad but again – due to the friendliness and care of the waitress, one couldn’t be upset about it.

The “Malbec, Bodega Luigi Bosca, Mendoza, Argentina” (270 AED) was a bit of a disappointment as it was rather boring.

The lounge itself is nice and once you’re seated with a shisha in your hand it is really the perfect place to sit back and relax. So, if you stay at The St. Regis enjoying a shisha in the Equestrian Lounge is definitely the right thing to do.
