Not my favourite in-mall restaurant anymore: Restaurant The Butcher Shop & Grill (22. January 2018)
This visit of The Butcher left the impression that the chef has changed. While in previous visits I really had the feeling that they do a great job, I was not so persuaded this time. The “Traditional Greek salad (served with arugula, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, bell pepper, onion, kalamata olives, watermelon and feta cheese)” (3.900 BHD) was served rather rapidly and was good. Nothing to complain there – not entirely practical to eat but else absolutely good and refreshing.
The “tenderloin, 180gr (perfectly aged South African beef cooked to perfection served with choice of two sides and a sauce) with vegetables, salad, peppercorn sauce and extra fries” (9.900 BHD) on the other hand was a disappointment this time. Usually, it was with the perfect grill flavor, with the perfect cooking level of medium rare as I usually order it. But this time, they just didn’t make it the way they used to. Unfortunately. So my disappointment was rather large.
And on top of all of that, the service wasn’t up to its task today. We had to wait for so long. Not only until they attended us, served us the food, but also until they brought us drinks. And I get it, you’re busy, and there are other guests but if I ask you for water, then please don’t forget that I had asked. It is really quite annoying. So, while The Butcher was on the top of my list in terms of restaurants in the Bahrain City Centre Mall, it really lost some brownie points.
