Non-luxury-hotel breakfast buffet: Restaurant Oléa @ The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort (16. February 2018)
The Restaurant Oléa does not really match my view on ‘St. Regis’ quality. I mean, the food is good but the place is really just a large buffet place (also during the day). A concept I am not very fond of. And something I would definitely not have expected in a St. Regis.
Anyways, you can find pretty much everything you need and like here. Ranging from cold cuts to yogurts …
… a variety of fresh seafood …
… cheeses …
… yogurt and cereals …
… as well as all the unhealthy American breakfast stuff like hash browns, sausages and beans. So, you can definitely find something for everyone but it does not feel like you’re in a five-star luxury resort!
What is truly lovely though is the view – if you manage to get a table outside you have a lovely view onto the sea and this little water area. Sit down, enjoy!
What isn’t so great though is the service. I had asked for a green tea and it took them a solid 45 minutes. And I get it, there are many people but 45 minutes? That’s just unacceptable. And the moment I was about to leave my table (also, I had asked twice again in the meanwhile), the tea arrived. Yeah, well, thanks for nothing!
