Decent mezzeh but disappointing burger: Restaurant Oléa @ The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort (17. February 2018)

| July 10, 2018 | 0 Comments

Given no restaurant was serving food during the afternoon in The St. Regis besides the ‘famous’ breakfast restaurant Oléa, I decided to eat something here. The “Cold Mezzeh (hummus, moutabel, tabouleh, fattoush, warak inab and pickled vegetables, marinated olives, muhammara, labneh served with Arabic bread)” (90 AED) was quite okay.

The “Grilled ‘Prime Beef Burger’ (char grilled beef burger served with cheese, lettuce, mayonnaise, sliced pickled beetroot and turkey bacon)” (115 AED) sounded delicious but was a true disappointment. The buns were incredibly fluffy, the meat was rather average and the cheese which was melted on top of it just really didn’t make it any better.

So, all in all, the Oléa didn’t persuade me – neither for breakfast, nor for an afternoon snack. Pity, really not the standard I expect from The St. Regis.
