Decent chicken dishes but nothing much more: Restaurant Köşebaşı (27. February 2018)

While the humus itself isn’t anything great, in combination with the meat, the “Pastırmalı Humus (homemade humus topped with olive oil and pastrami)” (2.800 BHD) becomes truly delicious. The saltiness of the meat with the smoothness of the humus makes for a good starter.


To balance off the saltiness, the “Toros Salata (finely chopped tomatoes, rocket, parsley, green onion and mint, mixed with sumac and pomegranate sauce)” (2.300 BHD) provides the necessary balance in greens and sweetness through the pomegranate seeds…………

Somehow, they changed their menu and while in general, it is an upgrade, they also changed the way they prepare some foods. And frankly, I liked the old version of the “Fındık Peyirli Pide (traditional pidette with cheese)” (0.500 BHD) and the “Fındık Ispanaklı Pide (traditional pidette with spinach)” (0.500 BHD) better than this one.

The “Karışık Tavuk (chicken tawouk, chicken saslık and chicken kebap)” (6.700 BHD) is rather simple chicken but at least not burned like so often. Although all the side elements and especially the fries are really something you can easily forget.

The service is rather swift and friendly and tries to make sure you have a good experience. If you go for chicken instead of meat, the experience is a decent one. Nothing to travel far for, but if you’re in the vicinity, worth a try.
