Not very atmospheric but caring service: Restaurant Pizzeria Schweizerhof (22. March 2018)
When you don’t book a table in advance you end up roaming through the city to find a place which offers food for lunch. We finally ended up in the Pizzeria Schweizerhof which seems to be a place for students but were lucky enough to find a table. The “tomato cream soup” (CHF 6.80) was okay or let me rather say, better than expected.
The “Pizza Spicy Salami (tomato sauce, mozzarella, spicy salami, oregano)” (CHF 17.00) with “additional anchovies” (CHF 1.00) was surprisingly good. The crust was thin, the topping was generously applied and overall it wasn’t too greasy. So, frankly, the pizza was much better than expected.
The place itself is very down to earth! I mean, super down to earth! As, too much down to earth for me. The service was lacking attention in the beginning but once he decided to bring the menu to the table he was not only swift but also friendly and he re-assured himself that he had understood the order correctly. So, if you are up for a quick decent pizza, then the Restaurant Pizzeria Schweizerhof is fine for lunch, if you are looking for something fancy, it isn’t.
