When Nenad Mlinarevic cooks live @ Restaurant Globus (2. May 2018)
Chef Nenad Mlinarevic is giving a two weeks special at the restaurant Globus Bahnhofstrasse and cooks there himself. The menu is adjusted to serve his specialties inspired by his stay in California. I went for the “Ceviche (vegetables, herbs, lemon)” (CHF 17.50) and only realized that it didn’t have any seafood whatsoever when it was served. However, the dish was delicious. Very vegetarian but absolutely yummy.
The “langustine (taco, jalapeño, tomato)” (CHF 24.50) with proper seafood was even better. I liked it a lot but they should have served two more tortillas as it was literally impossible to fit all of it into two tortillas.
The menu is specifically designed to emit this feeling of California – and I must say with the two dishes I’ve tried, they kind of manage to achieve that. All in all, the experience is a nice one but honestly speaking, the place itself does not really level up to the rest. It is rather old-fashioned and not very hip and young.
However, while he is there, it was definitely worth trying. His dishes will remain to be served in the Globus am Bellevue – in case you want to try them when his two weeks’ stay is over.
