Good drinks bar in central Zurich: Tales Bar (19. May 2018)
The Tales Bar apparently exists for quite a while but so far it has never really been on my agenda as I’ve only been driving by so far. It is a rather tiny bar with approximately 8 tables which fits max 20 people. The place is a bit dark (as it is kind of dimmed light) but it is still cozy. The waiters are friendly and generally attentive. It was a bit difficult for me to decide what to drink as there is a huge selection of drinks with super lengthy (unnecessary lengthy) descriptions. I finally opted for the “Clover Club (Broker’s Gin, lime juice, raspberry juice, fresh raspberries, egg white)” (CHF 18.00). And it was a good decision as the drink was light and sweet.
The “Mary Pickford (Bacardi 45.5, Maraschino, fresh pineapple, lime juice, Tales pomegranate vanilla syrup)” (CHF 18.00) which I had thereafter wasn’t bad either. The whole place is lovely as it is a bit secluded and not that easy to spot. But it is worth going. I liked the atmosphere although the whole thing feels rather heavy due to the darkness.
