Amazing Blunzngröstl – definitely worth trying: Restaurant Die Serviette (24. June 2018)
There aren’t too many restaurants open on a Sunday around midday but the Serviette was open and apparently quite good in terms of reputation. The place itself lacks a bit in atmosphere as it is tiny and somehow the tables are super close to each other and you are basically getting everything which happens in the kitchen. So, all in all, not really an amazing setup but the dishes were actually quite good. The “goat cheese in a bacon coat and salad” (EUR 9.50) was surprisingly flavorful although the goat cheese could have been a bit creamier.
The “Blunzngröstl” (EUR 9.80) which is basically a mixture between potatoes and blood sausage was absolutely delicious. If you like black pudding, you definitely have to try it. I absolutely loved it!
The “salad” which is served with it was actually fine too. So, all in all, the Serviette actually offers good dishes and the service is friendly and relatively swift. The only thing which is missing is ‘atmosphere’.
Frankly, I would come here again for the Blunzngröstl but not really for anything else. If you are in the are, come here, try them, and enjoy. If you are not in the area, there is no specific reason to pay this place a visit.
