Good but not as good as usually: Restaurant Brasserie Freilager (17. July 2018)

| December 2, 2018 | 0 Comments

I’m quite a fan of the Restaurant Brasserie Freilager – and not only because it is located very close to me but also because usually the dishes are good and the prices are decent. On that particular day, the food quality wasn’t the same as it usually is. The “cold cucumber soup with Voatsiperifery pepper, orange blossom” (CHF 16.00) really tasted bland – yes, there was a hint of cucumber but definitely far off in terms of deliciousness.

The “Café de Paris – Freilager (entrecôte au gratin with our home-made butter) (160gr)” (CHF 48.00) was okay. The sauce, for my personal gusto, is too liquid, and there isn’t enough sauce. So, compared to other locations serving Entrecôte Café de Paris, there is definitely room for improvement.

The “risotto” which was served with the meat was good and creamy though …

… and while the vegetables were good, they definitely looked a bit poor and lonely on that plate.

The service kept doing a good job as almost always but was a bit slow in the very beginning. However, with a total of CHF 158.50, I think it is fair to say that you get a good meal for a decent price.

If you want to have dinner here, definitely book your table in advance as else you won’t stand a chance to get a table. I’ll keep going – just won’t take the cold cucumber soup anymore.
