Perfect lunch spot with exquisite service: Restaurant Rive Gauche Terrasse (3. August 2018)

The Rive Gauche has a couple of locations to eat and I think I had already been to most. The only one missing so far was the “Rive Gauche Terrasse” and finally it was time to pay it a visit. The friend I was having lunch with is a regular there and we were attended accordingly with a lot of care. The “gazpacho” I had as a starter was good and especially refreshing given the temperatures.

The “Swiss beef tartare, spices, toast” (CHF 48.00) is rather pricey for a beef tartare, however, it was good in taste. And while they had served enough butter, they were not as generous with the toast. But as soon as we had ordered more toast, it arrived within a few minutes.

What is truly lovely about the place is the garden atmosphere and the fact that you can sit outside while it is actually very hot and almost unbearable in a suit. Due to the nice arrangement of the trees and little bushes, it remains relatively cold there which makes it a lovely place. Furthermore, the tables are set nicely apart so you can have a private conversation without getting the feeling that everyone around you is listening to every single detail you’re saying. And last but not least, the service is friendly and caring. I wonder though if it is the same if you are not a regular like my friend. Booking highly recommended!
