Not a place you have to visit if you’re not staying at the hotel: Restaurant max @ Courtyard by Marriott Pratteln (7. August 2018)
The “tomato soup” (CHF 8.00) is surprisingly delicious as it is actually full of actual tomato flavour but the whipped cream which is put on top is – frankly – completely unnecessary.
The “Caesar Salad (bacon, croutons, Parmesan cheese, grilled chicken breast)” (CHF 28.00) on the other hand is a disappointment. The chicken is probably more ‘pressed chicken leftovers’ than real chicken meat. Making it kind of disgusting.
The bread selection on the other hand is super nice and definitely better than expected.
The prices are very decent which is also true for the beverages (e.g. 0,5l Henniez, CHF 6.90). The service was friendly and attentive but it took quite a bit between the tomato soup and the caesar salad. From an atmosphere point of view, the place is not really on top of its game. Functional, yes. Does the trick, yes. Pretty, no. Comfortable, not so much. So, if you are staying in Pratteln, it’s fine to stay here. If you don’t have to, don’t.
