The perfect way for a short or long stop-over: Lufthansa First Class Lounge B (18. August 2018)

| December 31, 2018 | 0 Comments

I start to understand why people would actually pay a lot of money to fly First Class. When you are picked up from the airplane directly and brought to the lounge and the whole thing takes you around 7 minutes instead of like 30 to 45 (as it usually does in Frankfurt), then this is really a different level.

Once you’ve arrived in the lounge – which was almost empty – you get to pick a comfortable chair with a quite lovely view onto the tarmac where you see all the planes moving.

There is a buffet on the one hand side but there is also an à la carte restaurant in the Lufthansa First Class Lounge …

… which is nicely set …

… and you get to pick from quite a selection of different dishes. I started with a “Tom Ka Gai (coconut milk, chili, chicken, mushrooms, cilantro)” soup which was a true starter size and it was very tasty as it had a nice combination of intense flavour and yet somehow smoothing.

The “filet of beef (arugula, parmesan, cherry tomatoes)” looked a bit disappointing as it looked rather small (and overcooked) but as a matter of fact, it wasn’t! The meat was cooked perfectly medium-rare as requested and the combination of arugula with parmesan and cherry tomatoes was a refreshing side dish to the meat. The only thing lacking was salt – luckily that is the thing which is better applied by yourself than too much by the chef.

What I love about it is the attention to detail – there is a Berkel machine where you get freshly cut ham. Lovely! I mean, this is definitely adding to the whole experience.

And of course, there is a whole different big selection of dishes and foods you can pick from while being in the lounge like a variety of sweets …

… as well as a rich buffet …

… where you can find anything …

… you want …

… making it a great …

… place to completely overeat.

Once it is time to board, you’re brought with your personal driver to the plane – frankly, this is how one should always travel. It is decadent as fuck but it is also an absolutely unique (at least to me so far) experience I can definitely recommend anybody to take advantage of to the full extent whenever possible.
