Lovely local food in one of the markets: Comedor Candita @ Mercado de 20 Noviembre (24. August 2018)

What I like about Mexico is their local markets – where you can find all kinds of foods. I have read a couple of times about a “Tlayuda” and had no clue what kind of dish this was. So, it was time to get one. In the Mercado de 20 Noviembre (which, according to the tourist guide, offers the best food), I went in the Comedor Candita and ordered a “tlayuda con chorizo” (50 MXN). It has the size of a pizza! And it is absolutely delicious!

The “quesidilla” (25 MXN) was as good but definitely not necessary if you have already eaten a tlayuda. Well, once more, my eyes were more hungry than my stomach but the quesadilla was so good, I still finished both.

The place is simple, things are just laying there, ready to be turned into delicious dishes. All in all, a unique experience and incredibly cheap!

If you have time to walk around in the mercado, you should definitely do so!

Very much worth it!
