Decent dishes but lack of atmosphere and over-AC’ed: Restaurant Habana 61 (28. August 2018)

| January 16, 2019 | 0 Comments

The “taro root cream soup” (3.50 CUC) was a good starter countering the weather in Havana at the time. It was rainy, cold, windy. So, a taro root cream soup is the ideal basis to warm up. And also helps countering the rather strong AC in the restaurant.

The “ropa vieja (beef shredded, Cuban style) “(7.95 CUC) is one of the more ‘typical’ dishes of Cuba. And it was surprisingly tasty – the stringy meat was full of flavour and ultimately just perfect to be mixed with …

… “rice and mole”. All together, it was a marvelous dish in its simplicity.

The place is nice but not overly appealing either, the service is friendly and overall quite attentive and the prices are okay. So, if you’re in Havana, it is fair to pay the Habana 61 a visit.
