When the menu is only orally presented: Restaurant Coco Grill (3. October 2018)
The Coco Grill has its appeal as it is simple yet somehow very nice – the interior is lovely and overall nice. More like in an old kitchen of your grandmother’s house so you feel comfortable right away. Booking upfront is key as else you won’t stand a chance to actually get a table. Once you’re seated, you get some “bread” which is really just a slice of bread left on the grill – and in my personal opinion – left there for too long.
There is no written menu but only one which is presented verbally. Today, as part of the menu, there was a “chick peas soup” which was solid but lacked salt and pepper.
The “Thai curry with chicken” (CHF 32.50) was overall good – enough sauce, enough rice, enough curry. And fine in terms of taste.
The service is friendly and relatively swift – however, as the place is rather small, it seems like they are partially standing in each others ways, which also leads to the fact that you have to kind of wave at them so they would notice you.
All in all, the Coco Grill remains a sound recommendation – good dishes, fair prices, and lovely atmosphere. Booking advised.
