Free-floating Italian concept: Restaurant Da Nando (17. October 2018)
Another day, another restaurant – following that principle, today it was time to try the Da Nando. I was a bit skeptical approaching the place as it somehow doesn’t look too appealing from the outside. However, when you get in and you realize that pretty much everyone in there speaks Italian, I consider this a good sign. I went for the “Zuppa di Pomodoro” (EUR 3.00) which was a huge bowl of soup for a starter. I mean, you can pretty much feed a family with that.
The “pizza salami with tomatoes, cheese, salami and additional anchovies” (EUR 7.00) was nothing spectacular and too oily for me – and the dough was a bit too thick. Still, you get the food rather quickly and that isn’t too bad of a thing if you want to have something quick for lunch.
The service is generally attentive and rather swift in serving what you’re asking for. Last but not least, the ‘billing’ is a bit of a questionable art. It just cost EUR 10.00 per person although what I had ordered already topped that (incl. the water) – but I suppose you can’t have everything!
