Tasty Asian food in a cozy and romantic atmosphere: Restaurant Tam Tam (22. October 2018)
When I first entered the Tam Tam, I was a bit surprised as the whole place has a relatively romantic atmosphere with dried flowers, dimmed light and candles. Not so typical for an Asian restaurant. However, the place is actually nice in terms of what they serve plus the service is friendly, helpful and swift.
We went for a couple of different starters to share and despite the fact that the majority of the dishes are made either for parties of three or five (it seemed), they were happily ready to set it up in a way it would serve four. The “Simon Salmon (crispy salmon packages, Thai basil, cilantro pesto)” (EUR 4.90), and “Crispy Jipsy (four spring rolls, chicken, morels, carrots, white cabbage, and Nuoc Mam dip)” (EUR 4.90) were fine to start but nothing extraordinary.
The “white window (two summer rolls, prawns, rice noodles, salad, mungo sprouts, herbs)” (EUR 4.90) were good and I liked them more than the spring rolls.
The last one – which was some fried stuff (unfortunately, I deleted the picture of the menu too early) (EUR 4.90) was rather dull in terms of taste
What was great though was the soup I had ordered, a “King Mekong (sour spicy soup, salmon, tomatoes, okra silique, celery, pineapple)” (EUR 6.90). It is a starter portion but quite a big one and definitely worth trying.
As a main, I went for the “bowl tripple bee (beef slices with chili, lemongrass, prepared with rice noodles, mungo sprouts, salad, carrots, Thai basil, mint, pickled vegetables, grinded peanuts, roasted onions, Nuoc Mam sauce)” (EUR 12.00). It was not only enough it was also generally delicious, so the perfect main course.
Overall, the place is nice in terms of atmosphere and the service does its job, is even jovial and joking to the right extent. If you are into Asian food, the Tam Tam is definitely a place I can recommend you to visit.
