Great place, good service, and lovely food: Restaurant Spoerl Fabrik (24. October 2018)
The Spoerl Fabrik isn’t really located centrally but still worth the short travel. The building is a former plant and, therefore, rather spacious. However, the actual dining area isn’t that spacious after all. The light is a bit dimmed in the room but it is generally a very nice atmosphere and you feel comfortable right away. The service is attentive, jovial, and professional. As a starter I went for the “shortly stir-fried tuna, scallop, corn, chorizo, leek puree” (EUR 14.90). The tuna was good but the saltiness and intenseness of the chorizo definitely added to the dish.
As a main I went for the “beef filet, celery puree, truffle potato cake, shallot jam, truffle jus” (EUR 29.90). The beef was definitely fine but I have had better. Decent dish and lovely combination of different vegetables but not outstanding.
The prices are super decent though – for the dishes as well as for the beverages with EUR 21.00 for a bottle of Sangaetano, EUR 5.50 for a bottle of water, and EUR 4.50 for a double espresso. Given the place isn’t that huge, I would highly recommend you to book a table in advance.
