Delicious flank steak in a nice atmosphere: Restaurant DOX @ Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf (30. October 2018)
While it took me more than 3 weeks to visit the place, I ended up in the same place twice within 24 hours. Today it was time for the “US prime beef flank steak (250gr)” (EUR 33.00) with a “herb salad with croûtons” (EUR 6.00) and “herb butter” (EUR 4.00). The flank steak was rather large and absolutely juicy. But considering it’s flank steak and you have to pay an additional EUR 10.00 in total for the sides, I believe EUR 43.00 for this kind of dish are a bit at the upper end.
Also the fact that you pay EUR 11.00 for 0,75l San Pellegrino seems a bit off to me. I mean, I get it, it’s the Hyatt and the food is good and all but ultimately, it is a bit of a rip-off and more Zurich prices than anything else. The same is true for the “double espresso” (EUR 6.00). When it comes to the atmosphere, the place remains nice and when it comes to the service, it is absolutely reliable. If you are staying in the Hyatt and the weather is bad, the DOX is definitely a place you can have dinner at.
