Swift lunch after 2pm: Restaurant *hirschchen (31. October 2018)
While at our very first visit the time until the dishes were served were definitely far beyond acceptable, the speed definitely improved ever since. I suppose this is also connected to the fact that we went for lunch at around 2pm plus they didn’t have to serve the tables outside (as the weather was bad). Today, I went for the “breaded pork schnitzel with pepper sauce and French fries” (EUR 8.90) which looked very sad. Brown with another brown and some yellow. Some kind of ‘colour’ wouldn’t have harmed anybody (be it a tomato or some parsley). I’m not saying I would eat it but it would just look way nicer.
The place remains as is – functional but not unpleasant. The same is true for the service. I am suspecting that the waiter (owner?) is from Hamburg which would explain part of the way he interacts. You eventually get warm with him – but it takes time. The fact that you get 0,4l Ice Tea for EUR 2.00 is a really good deal though. So, if you are not going during the peak hours, I can recommend you the *hirschchen.
