Great Italian dishes a bit hidden away: Trattoria Trombetta (23. November 2018)

| May 2, 2019 | 0 Comments

The Trattoria Trombetta is hidden away so a bit tricky to find. Once you’ve found the entrance though, they make sure you’re welcomed in a very comfortable manner. There is a little waiting area until your table is ready and once you’re seated the waiter attends you right away. I went for the “Risotto Milanese by Giancarlo Morelli” (EUR 16.00) which was absolutely delicious and just the perfect starter to begin the weekend.

The “La Cotoletta Milanese” (EUR 26.00) was a thick breaded piece of meat with roasted potatoes. Overall, the meat was juicy and tender but just too much. I couldn’t quite stomach the whole portion but admittedly, it was overall a pleasant dish.

The “patate gratinate” (EUR 4.00) were fine to round up the dish. If I had known there was going to be potatoes with the meat, I wouldn’t have ordered the additional potatoes but given the waiter didn’t say anything about it, I ended up with an overload of potatoes.

Overall, the atmosphere in the restaurant is decent and the dishes were good and fair in price. And the same applies for all the beverages, i.e. EUR 25.00 for a bottle of Alario, 2015; EUR 4.00 for a double espresso, EUR 3.00 for 0,75l of sparkling water and EUR 2.00 for the cover charge. All in all, I can recommend the Trattoria Trombetta for a nice little dinner – make sure you book in advance as the place is quite crowded.
