Breath-taking atmosphere but rather on the expensive side: Restaurant Phoenix (26. November 2018)

Despite the fact that I’m quite often in the Dreischeibenhaus, I have never been to the Restaurant Phoenix so far, so it was about time to visit it. I went for the “creamy spinach risotto with an Onsen egg, 36 months matured Parmigiano Reggiano and Alba truffle” (EUR 32.00) which was absolutely delicious. The only downside of the dish is that you definitely do not have enough after eating that – at least I was hungry again a couple of hours later.

The place is quite lovely in terms of interior design and atmosphere and the service is very friendly, swift and attentive. The whole experience is definitely a pleasant one but it is also at the upper end of acceptable with regards to the price for the dishes. Still, worth giving it a try and if you can take the “daily lunch menu” then it is even kind of acceptable in terms of pricing. At least on a Monday for lunch there is no need to book a table in advance. Might be that this changes throughout the week though.
