Absent service but good dishes: Restaurant La Piazzetta (4. December 2018)
What you get at the La Piazzetta is decent dishes – what you don’t get is decent service! The place is rather empty (we were the only guests) but actually quite nice in terms of interior decoration. Once you are seated, the waiter comes and puts down a stand with the menu. Then it was ‘waiting time’. It took them a solid 10 minutes to show up again. I mean, I get it, right, there is two guests at the same table. Makes sense that you’d need like 10 minutes …
When I was finally able to place my order as the waiter had decided to show up, I ordered the “brodo with ravioli” (EUR 10.00). The soup was nothing special but rather ‘regular’. The ravioli were good but also not beyond decent.
The main course on the other hand was surprisingly good. The “beef filet points with gorgonzola and tagliolini” (EUR 19.50) were delicious. The meat was tender, the tagliolini perfectly al dente and the gorgonzola sauce intense but definitely very enjoyable.
The prices are fine, the place is nice, but the service is basically non-existent. Once it shows up though, it is friendly at least. So, if they’d improve the service, I’d come here more often!
