Overrated location and average drinks: Restaurant Zuma @ The St. Regis Bangkok (27. December 2018)
Although the Zuma is a place you find kind of all over the world, I have never been to a Zuma restaurant anywhere in the world. Given, the Zuma restaurant was located on the ground floor of The St. Regis where I was staying, it was time to give it a shot. I went for the “Zumanuka (manuka honey vodka, basil, pineapple, apple, lime, lemon)” (345 BHT) which was fine but nothing special. For the fact that they call the cocktail with the name of the restaurant in it, I was a bit disappointed to be honest.
The place is hip and they create exclusivity by making sure that all tables are occupied and if you don’t book in advance, you barely stand a chance to score a table. It was the last available table I was enjoying! Well, lucky one must be, I suppose! The service is friendly but not entirely up to the task as there are too many tables and not enough waiters. Still, they are friendly and helpful as basically everyone in Thailand. Worth coming? Not really.
