Lovely atmosphere and some typical dishes: Louvre Michaelense (5. January 2019)
Upon walking through the city center (which is incredibly tiny), I stumbled upon a placed called Louvre Michaelense. The link to the actual Louvre is mot there but the place is quite lovely in terms of atmosphere and interior design. It seems that this is a very traditional café which has been there for at least a couple of decades.
I went for the typical dishes you can encounter here, a “Queijada Queso Fresco” (EUR 1.20) and a “Queijada Leite” (EUR 1.20). The queijada leite was definitely too sweet for me but the quejada queso fresco was overall quite tasty. Not my favourite flavour in the world but definitely worth trying.
The “double espresso” (EUR 1.50) is served in a nice fashion and is quite tasty.
What I truly liked about the place though was the interior …

… and while the service is generally friendly and helpful but not necessarily the most efficient one.
If you are visiting the Azores on its main island São Miguel, you should definitely make a stop here and enjoy a coffee and some local flavors.
