Delicious beef offering with lovely service: Restaurant The BEEF Steakhouse & Bar (2. February 2019)

When I had walked passed The BEEF I was somehow already intrigued by its name. I mean, if you are a meatitarian, how can you potentially not be fascinated by a place called ‘beef’ and written in all capital letters? Right! So, it was time to get back to this place after having walked around for a bit. I went or the “Oxtail Soup (clear oxtail soup with a bread stick)” (CHF 14.00) which was definitely solid but given I somehow had overread the ‘clear’ part of the oxtail soup, I was somewhat disappointed.

As a main, I went for the “Irish Angus Beef, Gentleman’s Cut (250gr)” (CHF 54.00) which I had ordered ‘medium-rare’ and it was served perfectly medium-rare. The crust carried a nice grill flavour making it truly enjoyable.

What I loved about the “Sauce Béarnaise” (CHF 3.00) was – besides the reasonable price – the fact that it was prepared freshly! Absolutely delicious! The “Truffle Fries (French Fries with truffle mayonnaise, Parmesan and fresh black truffles)” (CHF 8.00) on the other hand were a disappointment. They weren’t that crispy, the truffle mayonnaise was more or less regular mayonnaise and the black truffles weren’t all that flavourful.

The place is nice in terms of interior design and you feel comfortable rather quickly. What was outstanding was the caring and lovely service by the waitress. She was super friendly, super attentive, and even when I had asked why the oxtail soup was clear, she remained super lovely and caring. That is really how you want people to attend you in a restaurant!
