Delicious dinner with an amazing view: Restaurant Le Heritage @ Le Méridien Hamburg (17. February 2019)

| May 9, 2019 | 0 Comments

Since the Le Méridien Hamburg has refurbished their restaurant on the 9th floor, the Le Heritage, I haven’t had a proper chance to dine here. Finally, the day had come and I was able to try out their menu. Given I was intending to eat something light, I went for the “Tuna Tatar | Avocado | Ponzu | Taro Chips” (EUR 17.00) which looked tiny at first but was a decent portion – and the combination of tuna and avocado were a delicious combination!

The “Heritage salad with house dressing and avocado” (EUR 15.00) was the perfect adding to the starter – there is an assembly of different ingredients making it an absolutely luscious salad you just have to enjoy!

Given I was not really looking forward to something sweet, I decided to go for the “”Maître Affineur Waltmann’s hand-made cheese (3 pieces)” (EUR 12.00) which was a good pick. However, the selection is rather limited as there were only two blue cheeses, one red smear cheese and a couple of regular cheeses. Not a bad selection but a bit disappointing in size.

The service is doing a good job in being attentive and making sure you have everything you need and want. The prices are fair for a hotel of this category but also obviously not cheap. The EUR 9.50 for 0,7l San Pellegrino seem a bit over the top while the EUR 4.50 for a “double espresso” seems acceptable. All in all, the dishes at the Le Heritage are very good and definitely worth trying. If you want to score a table with a view onto the Aussenalster, you have to come late (after 9:30pm) or book a table in advance!
