Good breakfast selection – unfriendly service: Restaurant La Favola @ Suitenhotel Parco Paradiso (24. February 2019)

| May 11, 2019 | 0 Comments

The Suitenhotel Parco Paradiso didn’t sound too appealing at first but it was the only hotel which had availability for a decent price on short notice. And I must say, I was positively surprised as the rooms are actually quite lovely and you have – even if not unobstructed – a lovely view of Lake Lugano.

The breakfast selection offered is also quite decent ranging from cereals …

… to vegetables and salads …

… a variety of dried fruits and jams …

… croissants …

… breads …

… toast and cookies …

… as well as cheeses …

… juices …

… and cold cuts …

… muesli and yogurts. They even have a live cooking station where you can order your omelet or the like. However, they are having their buffets open till about 11:00, so make sure you don’t end up there by 10:50, as this would ultimately lead to them not serving anything anymore at the live cooking station. So better be a bit earlier.

While the interior is not really overwhelming, the view is. The selection is fine and the quality of the dishes is good but the service isn’t really what I call attentive service. Upon the question if I could get a coffee, I was non-nonchalantly guided to the buffet with a very brisk statement that “it’s self-service!”. I mean, okay, I get that. It is. Wouldn’t hurt to be friendly though.
