Surprisingly good dinner where not expected: Restaurant Julian’s @ Courtyard by Marriott Düsseldorf Hafen (28. February 2019)
I was not quite sure where to eat that evening but given that I had arrived rather late to Düsseldorf, I decided to give the restaurant in the hotel a shot and went for the “beef filet (200gr)” (EUR 29.50) served with “wok vegetables” (EUR 4.50). While I consider the whole experience a bit pricey for German standards, I must say that the meat was actually very good and had a very nice consistency. The wok vegetables were interesting due to their Asian sauce flavour – a good course.
The “pepper sauce” (EUR 2.50) I had ordered on the side was having a super strong pepper flavor – something I quite liked but which was also rather intense!
The service was varying in terms of quality. At first the waiter was super attentive and basically there all the time making sure that I’d have everything I needed. Then, after I had ordered and received my dish, he kind of disappeared and it took me quite a while until I was able to order the bill.
