When the service is not service-oriented: Restaurant Mocca D’Or (3. March 2019)
It is years ago that I’ve been to the Mocca D’Or and I get why it didn’t really stick in my mind. The place is simple, regular and really nothing extraordinary all in all. When we walked in we were ignored by about 3 waiters and waitresses. Only when we made ourselves quite visible, they decided to tell us that there was only space at the bar (when there was clearly a whole table empty). We asked for the table and we were then ‘allowed’ to sit down.
We didn’t get a menu but had to look at the one on the table (which is absolutely fine). But even when we were clearly done selecting, they would not really pay attention so we had to wave at them so someone would take the order. I went for the “Pizza Calabrese” (EUR 15.79) with additional “anchovies” (EUR 2.20) which was ultimately quite tasty but also rather intense in flavor.
The place is – as you can see – rather simple and standard, nothing you need to check out.
All in all, I’m not sure what is the reputation of the Mocca D’Or, respectively why it is something somewhat famous in Münster. For me, frankly, a place I would not frequent again.
